Buffalo mozzarella and veggies of the day along with pizza with sausage. It was delish at the time but I seriously barfed about 2 hours after I ate this. I don’t know if it was just too much cheese for my system or the mushrooms. I ralphed one other time not too long ago after i ate a mushroom grinder in philly. Just a fun story to share!
Pizza Fritta - Fried Pizza @ Pizzeria di Carminiello which has been around for 100 years. Holy sh*t. I really cant believe how amazing this fried pizza is. the dough, fried, just tastes fantastic. This is a Neapolitan specialty. Inside is ricotta, bits of a type of ham that is rendered down in pork fat, a bit of tomato sauce. i want one every day. :( But have only tasted 1 in the month and a half i’ve been here. I can’t say the same for croissant and regular pizza. ha.

Cannolichi aka Razor Clams. Photos are mine, text from cited blog
There are numerous varieties of razor clams and they can look quite different. Some look like an elongated clam shell, but the variety we have in Rome look nothing like a clam. The peculiarity of our razor clam is that the shell is opened at both ends. You can (and should) touch the foot end of the clams to make sure they are alive before purchasing.
Razor clams are about 15 - 17 centimeters long. In our area razor clams are known as cannolicchi, but in the Marche and Veneto regions they’re known as cappalonga. Mannicaio in Tuscany and arrasoias or gregus in Sardegna. These are all dialect names for the old-fashioned facial razor, as that’s just what they look like:
